Sen. Mark Kirk's "Bro With No Ho" Comment About Sen. Lindsey Graham Lands Him In Hot Water

UPDATED: The comment seemed out of character with his public persona, but a joking reference Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk (R) made about a colleague and presidential candidate, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R), has landed him in a lot of hot water as he approaches a very difficult re-election campaign next year. Sen. Graham, a confirmed bachelor, recently told the Daily Mail he had a sister and a lot of female friends who could serve as rotating first ladies if he becomes president. The Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet summarizes the comments Sen. Kirk attempted but failed to share privately with a Senate colleague:
Does Sen. Mark Kirk have no filter?
The Illinois Republican gave a giant in-kind donation Thursday to his major 2016 Democratic rivals, an-all female line-up eager to take his seat. Kirk is one of the very top Democratic 2016 targets.
Sitting in front of an open microphone during a public Senate Appropriations Committee meeting, Kirk said this about Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., the only bachelor in the 2016 presidential pack.
“I’ve been joking with Lindsey,” Kirk said. “Did you see that? He’s going to have a rotating first lady. He’s a bro with no ho.”
Kirk added, “That is what we’d say on the South Side,” a reference to a part of Chicago with a big African-American population.
Kirk was speaking during a committee roll call — when the microphones were on.
So there were no tricks here, no trackers, no secret recordings. Just a lot of Democrats, who have ears, in the committee room.
Ho, in case you are not familiar with the slang, is a diminutive reference to a prostitute.
Both Kirk, who is divorced, and the single Graham have been the subject of persistent rumors about their sexual orientation. Sweet notes that Kirk came under fire last February when he suggested Republicans should "build a number of coffins outside each Democratic office" in the event of a shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. In April, he told a reporter "we driver faster" through a black community. Apparently Sen. Kirk suffered hasn't fully recovered from the stroke that nearly claimed his life a few years ago.

UPDATE: Wow. The Chicago Tribune's John Kass, for whom I have great admiration, thinks Kirk should step down from his Senate seat; otherwise, he'll be a drag on the entire GOP ticket in Illinois in 2016.

Kirk had the misfortune of growing up in a time when Chicago was a real place, and he still carries those memories and attitudes.

During Kirk's lifetime, Chicago changed from being a tough-guy city full of proud plain-speakers to a safe lilypad for gays, liberals and soft people. The weakest of souls have ready defenders in the hissing and lisping falsetto-voiced news desks at the Tribune and Sun Times.

Unfortunately for Sen. Kirk, he will never be afforded the latitude the media affords Vice President Joe Biden in making inappropriate comments.

I am one gay guy who can usually spot a beard a mile away. Some say Graham's real name is not even "Lindsey". And that he has many female friends (although no female paramours) who could serve as rotational First Ladies is the stuff drag show monologues are made of.

There are a number of social media commentators who have the view Michelle Obama is really a man dressed as a woman. Her hair and clothing styles are carefully crafted to downplay her more masculine features. She has obviously undergone a radical transformation from her appearance as a much younger person. Her prominent manbrows have disappeared and her face and nose has clearly been altered through a number of cosmetic surgery procedures. Even Barack's nose shows indications of cosmetic alterations from his younger pictures.

Not only that, Gary, but occasionally, Obama slips up and calls her "Michael."

There is some great research on this in Youtube. She also has her clothes carefully cut to hide her masculine shoulders.

Ever see a photo of Michelle Obama pregnant?

Gary, no amount of makeup, lipstick, and rouge can make a pig anything but what it is. Okay, there, I said it....

Ridiculous. What a bunch of gossipy old hags the lot of you are. Michelle Obama doesn’t have to prove to you she is a woman. Maybe you all should prove you’re not a bunch of women, prattling on and on about the first lady of the United States in such a way. You’re not gentlemen. And there’s nothing investigative about your stupid claims, which sound like the ramblings of a schoolyard full of 4th graders. I guess you fancy yourself some type of Infowars conspiracy proofers, breaking the critical news that the first lady is a man and the President is blah blah blah. I watched my father slowly descend into madness and at the end he turned quite insane. And a cousin who regularly became delusional and psychotic without his haldol. I hope you don’t really believe the first lady is a man, because while I have enough compassion left for pity, educated people do recognize symptomatic talk and mental illness is quite prevalent. Seeing conspiracies everywhere is a warning sign.

Why do old Republican white men say things like “bro with no ho?” Have we not learned that elections are lost when these guys talk about rape, and vaginas, etc? And what’s with this fifty something white guy even referring to women as ho’s in jest? I know he apologized already, but he is seeking reelection, and I suppose he will be apologizing to women voters for the remainder of the election cycle. This business of talking about Lindsey Graham’s bachelorhood as a joke is getting old too. There’s nothing wrong with being a bachelor. And if he is gay, or celibate, or something other than traditionally heterosexual, that’s also not really an issue or a joke. Why is it, in a “joke”, that old Republican guys can laugh about someone not having a “ho” without being called out for being misogynist “dicks?”

I concur with 9:26 -- back to the original topic: I think it was a witty comment, and actually find no harm in it -- have we reached the point that there is no humor, that everyone is on edge of being offended or outraged -- I say chill out, people....and the comments about Michele Obama's sex are just outrageous and symptomatic of the complete and comprehensive fall of a once decent political party -- and I am not talking about the Democrats....what a bunch of racist idiots that comprise the GOP

Drib and drab re: obama's. Move on.

I heard a rumor that many Indiana women politicians are actually men.

With regard to Anons 11:!2, 10:23, etc... I never realized until I became a fan of Advance Indiana that liberals consider snarky, hate and bully remarks as signs of intelligence. Reminiscent of how the pedestrian masses hold SNL and Jon Stewart high esteem even though the latters' "strengths" are mockery without substance held up as being among the smartest in the room. I am willing to wager many commenters on this page scoffing at AI comments are the same persons, or types of persons, who derided- or would have derided- Ross Perot ("NAFTA will result in a giant sucking sound of jobs out of the USA"), Wayne Madsen ("Hastert seduced male minors"), and that Bill Clinton was a female sex predator skilled at abuse and attacks on women (Clinton was finally proved to have "had sex with that women" and the Paula Jones story is now vindicated as true, Carville's hundred dollar bill and trailer parks notwithstanding the light of day).

The strangest thing is how virtually all of the family photos of Barack's younger years show obvious signs of photoshopping. I think his true birth narrative is yet to be revealed, and I don't believe his real birth mother is dead as we've been led to believe.
